MOENCHENGLADBACH, Germany (AP) — France forward Marcus Thuram may have played his last game for Borussia Moenchengladbach. The Bundesliga club said Tuesday that Thuram tore a muscle fiber in his groin during the team’s 1-0 loss at home to Union Berlin on Sunday and that he is “ out for the foreseeable future.”The club does not say how long Thuram will miss, but an injury of this sort usually means a forced six- to eight-week break. Only five matches are left in the Bundesliga and Thuram is set to leave Gladbach at the end of the season after they failed to reach agreement on a contract extension.Thuram was Gladbach’s leading scorer in the league this season with 13 goals in 28 appearances. The 25-year-old Thuram — the son of former France defender Lilian Thuram — has 34 Bundesliga goals altogether in 109 games for Gladbach, which he joined in 2019 from French club Guingamp after a previous spell at Sochaux.Thuram has played 10 times for France.___More AP soccer: https://apnews.com/hub...Potential threat under investigation at Smoky Hill High School

The case is closed against a former Broward School’s superintendent. Dr. Robert Runcie was facing one criminal count of perjury after he was accused of lying to a grand jury. A judge Tuesday dismissed those charges against Runcie. Runcie was arrested in April of 2021 after a grand jury that was investigating operations of the school district at the time, claimed that he wasn’t truthful in preparing his testimony. Shortly after Runcie turned himself in and posted bond, he agreed to a separation agreement with the district. That agreement took effect in the summer of 2021. Runcie’s attorneys argued that the grand jury was out of scope with his indictment and said that that was not what they were there to do; they were not there to look into the superintendent. The judge agreed with his attorneys and wrote the following statement that reads, “…it is ordered and judged that the defendant’s second motion to dismiss indictment is granted. The state has ...Sen. Scott bill would fund armed officers in all US schools

Money earmarked for thousands of new IRS employees would be transferred to a grant program allowing schools nationwide to hire armed law enforcement personnel under legislation outlined Tuesday by U.S. Sen. Rick Scott of Florida. The School Guardian Act would take about $80 billion that Congress previously approved to expand the tax agency and spend it instead on efforts to deter and respond to school shootings such as the 2018 massacre in Parkland, Florida in which 17 people were killed. Parents of those victims said they support Scott’s bill.“If we can’t prevent them, then we know having an armed response on campus is the fastest way to stop these attacks,” said Ryan Petty, a state Board of Education member whose 14-year-old daughter, Alaina, died in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting. “This bill is incredibly important.”The measure is modeled after legislation then-governor Scott signed into law in Florida after the Parkland shooting ...Investigation underway after furniture warehouse evacuated due to hazardous material leak
