ANGERS, France (AP) — Isabeau Levito’s quest for a first Grand Prix victory is over. The 16-year-old American figure skater won the Grand Prix de France on Saturday with a total of 203.22 points for her two programs.Levito, who had built a big lead of more than five points after Friday’s short program, was less impressive in the free skate and had to be content with the third best total.Levito landed a triple lutz-triple toe and four other triple jumps but stumbled on her last spin. Her performance was still good enough to prevail as Anastasiia Gubanova of Georgia and Lee Hae-in of South Korea — who were second and third after the short program — also struggled in their free skate. Levito beat Nina Pinzarrone of Belgium by a comfortable margin of 4.42 points. Rion Sumiyoshi of Japan ended third.“I guess we’ll call this screwing up the second half of my spin a dramatic finish,” Levito said. “I’m just glad that I did the first half very nicely. Blinken says that could be counterproductive

AMMAN, Jordan (AP) — Arab leaders decrying the deaths of thousands of Palestinian civilians in the Israel-Hamas war pushed for an immediate cease-fire Saturday even as U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned that such a move would be counterproductive and could encourage more violence by the militant group. After an afternoon of talks with Egyptian, Jordanian, Saudi, Qatari and Emirati diplomats and a senior Palestinian official, Blinken stood side by side at a line of podiums with his counterparts from Jordan and Egypt to discuss what he said was their shared desire to protect civilians in Gaza and improve aid flows to the besieged territory. The dissonance in the messages was evident. Nonetheless, the joint news conference between ministers from the Arab world and the top diplomat from Israel’s closest ally and numerous photo opportunities contrasted with Blinken’s time in Tel Aviv on Friday, when Blinken met alone with reporters after closed-door talks with Prime Minister Be...Auburn FG and late defensive stand lift No. 7 Texas over No. 25 Kansas State 33-30 in OT

Texas (8-1, 5-1 Big 12, No. 7 CFP) matched last season’s win total and stayed on track for a possible berth in the Big 12 championship game.
