Thanksgiving Off-Road Crash in San Diego Left Scripps Ranch Grandfather DeadSAN DIEGO, CA (December 5, 2023) – A Scripps Ranch family is grieving following a Dune Buggy Accident that claimed the life of 53-year-old Rob Mallory.The deadly occurrence took place on the afternoon of Thanksgiving day at Ocotillo Wells State Park.As outlined in the report, Rob, accompanied by several family members on a dune buggy, opted to pay a visit to a memorial plaque dedicated to Rob’s brother.After approximately 15 minutes, while navigating the main trail, the group was involved in a collision with another dune buggy that emerged from a feeder trail.Responding emergency personnel airlifted Rib to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.Additionally, Rob’s wife Misty Mallory, his son, and his girlfriend were hurt in the incident. 22-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Wrong-Way Accident in San Patricio CountyCORPUS CHRISTI, TX (December 5, 2023) – Joaquin Puente died Monday night in a wrong-way collision on Highway 188. Around 6:36 a.m., police responded to the San Patricio County.As per reports, Puente, a 22-year-old, was driving a 2001 Buick Century in the eastbound lanes of the highway. The Buick inexplicably veered into oncoming lanes. In that area, the Buick collided with the front left side of a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500, which was being driven by 71-year-old Charles Rodriguez of Sinton.Following the impact, the Buick spun before eventually coming to a stop on the eastbound lanes. Paramedics transported a passenger, 53-year-old Blanca Jones from North Carolina, to CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital-Shoreline in Corpus Christi due to the injuries sustained.Puente was later pronounced deceased by medics due to the severity of the injuries.An ongoing investigation is actively seeking additional information. SAN JOSE — Police have arrested three men in connection to an August gang-related shooting in San Jose, according to authorities.The shooting in question took place around 9:37 p.m. on Aug. 24 at the 1500 block of Alum Rock Avenue, but all suspects had left the scene by the time officers arrived. The victim was identified later, after they drove themself to a hospital with a non-life threatening injury.According to police, an investigation revealed that the shooting was gang related. Three suspects were identified, though police did not immediately reveal how they had come to pinpoint the trio.The police department later obtained search and arrest warrants for each suspect. (KRON) -- At least one person died in a possible multi-vehicle collision on northbound Interstate Highway 680 near the unincorporated community of Pacheco on Tuesday morning, according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District. At about 9:30 a.m., fire crews responded to a call about a crash between state Highway 4 and the Pacheco Boulevard off-ramp, according to fire district spokesman Capt. Chris Toler. DVC coach accused of assaulting women on bus converted into ‘dungeon’ in court today Multiple lanes are blocked or impacted, according to Contra Costa County Fire. Drivers are being advised to find alternate routes.Investigators did not say what caused the crash or when lanes may reopen.
